Installation Guide
- Cutting the Pipe :Cut the pipe square with hand saw with suitable guide or by pipe cutter. Joint preparation. Chamfer or deburr pipe or both, approximately at 10o – 15o Remove burrs form inside and outside diameters with a knife file or abrasive paper.
- Test dry fit of the joint : Insert the pipe into the fitting and check that the interference occur about 1/3rd to 2/3rd of the socket depth. Too tight or too lose fitment may lead to leak, hence should be avoided.
- Cleaning : Reamove any dirt, moisture or grease from pipe end & fitting sockets with a clean dry rag.
- Application of Solvent Cement : Apply cement lightly but iniformly to inside of socket and outside of pipe and with a natural bristle nylon brush or suitable applicator. Apply a second coat of cement to the pipe end. Do not apply excessive cement in bell socket. Apply cement rapidly and be sure to completely cover all jointing surface area of the pipe and fittings.
- Assembly of Joint : Immediately after applying the last coat of cement to the pipe (within 20 second) insert the male end of the pipe in the socket, giving pipe or fitting 1/4 turn to evenly distribute the cement. Remove excess cement from the pipe at the end of fitting socket. The joint must not be disturbed immediately after cementing. so that joint can properly cure. Allow cement to cure before pressurizing the system. Recommended curing time is 24 hours.
Advantages
The key properties of OUR Upvc high pressure Lead Free plumbing System are significant with following features
- Strong and light weight : Our Upvc lead free Plumbing System is tough, durable with high tensile and impact strength. The system is light in weight and can be transported easily from one place to another.
- Easy to Install : Our Upvc Lead free pipe can be cut, shaped, welded and jointed easily.
- Durable : Our Upvc Lead Free Plumbing System is durable and free from weaknesses caused by rusting, weathering and chemical action and hence last for life time.
- Fire resistant : Our Upvc Lead Free Plumbing system is inherently difficult to ignite and stops burning once the source of heat is removed. Compared to its common plastic alternatives PVC performs better in terms of lower combustibility, flammability, flame propagation and heat release. Newly developed advantages in terms of lower acid emissions, smoke generation and enhanced fire resistance.
- UV stabilized : Our Upvc lead free Plumbing System can be used in sunlight exposed conditions. However, we recommends a standard grade of exterior latex paint (water base) which will protect the system adequately.
- Simple and Leak Proof Joints : Jointing can be done speedily with special IPS solvent cement supplied by the company which ensures 100% leak proof joints.
- Maximum Flow Rate : Smooth inner surface ensures high flow rate and low friction losses. The system is leach and scale free.
- Safe Material for Drinking Water : Our Upvc pipes are non-toxic and lead free which makes them a safe material for potable water. It is also the world’s most researched and thoroughly tested material for PVC which meets all international standards for safety and health for both the products and applications.
- Good insulator : PVC does no coduct electricity. Our Upvc pipes are non conductor of electricity so it make the plumbing system safe when working with electrical tools or equipments.
- Chemical Resistance : uPVC is generally inert fo most mineral acids, bases, salts and paraffinic hydrocarbon solutions. For more information uPVC chemical resistance refer to Chemical Resistance of Rigid Vinyls Based.
- Wide Range : Our Upvc Lead Free Plumbing System available form 1/2″ (15mm) to 4″(100mm) with wide range of fittings. transition fittings, valves and specially designed brass inserted fittings to suit any design criteria.
Precautions
- Avoid forceful insertion of the pipe into the fitting.
- Installation Pipelines should be straight and in 90o degree and always supported with pipe clips on specific intervals.
- When the system is to be concealed it should be pressure tested before concealment.
- This system is not recommended for geyser outlets and hot water supply.
